Lifestyle Triple P set to start in Timmins and Kapuskasing

Lifestyle Triple P is a new and effective program that helps parents foster healthy lifestyle habits in their children that will last a lifetime.  The program focuses on healthy nutrition, activity and positive parenting.

To qualify, parents must:

  • Have a child between the ages of 5 to 10 years of age
  • Be able to commit to 10 group sessions and 4 individual telephone consultations
  • Have an overweight child.

The next Lifestyle Triple P series will begin in September 2011.  Afterwards, families will be placed on a waiting list and contacted when another series begins.

Contact the Porcupine Health Unit at 705-267-1181 or nicole.ethier@porcupinehu.on.ca for more information about this program.

Triple P is available many different ways depending on the needs of parents. Parents can speak to a nurse over the phone, during a home visit, clinic visit or during groups about issues they are having. Call the health unit in your area for more information about what is available in your community.
